Kevin McCreary earned a Master of Education from the University of North Texas in 2000 and earned his Colorado LPC (Licensed Profession Counselor) in 2009 and his Texas LPC in 2012. Kevin brings with him 13 years of experience working with all populations and specializes in Men’s Issues. Kevin’s experience has culminated in the development of an Accountability Curriculum that acts as the cornerstone of his therapeutic approach. Here is Kevin in his own words:

My success is measured by the success of my clients. When a client reports feeling better because their life has become easier to manage and getting the things they want in their life, I know I did my job. How does this happen?

I believe that everyone has the capability to resolve their own issues; they simply need some help gaining perspective or learning about alternative solutions. We all make mistakes and nobody is perfect. Let’s face it, life is messy and sometimes we lose our way in the chaos. My role is to help clear the air so the client can see their path more clearly.

I do this by employing Adlerian Theory, also known as Individual Psychology, which states that a person has difficulty because they feel discouraged. It is through encouragement that the person can begin to see more effective solutions to their problems. This is where Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) comes in. CBT focuses on the relationship between thoughts, actions, and feelings. In other words “we think it, we do it, we do it, we feel it”. In order to change how we feel or what we are doing, we must change our thoughts. And here in lies the focus of treatment.

I never cease to be amazed by the undeniable strength of the human spirit. Despite great challenges, people continue to survive. What I strive to do is to more closely connect what you want with the thoughts running through your head. When this happens the path to success becomes more clear and “the road less traveled” becomes easier to walk. This is when you start “Getting the Life You Want”!
